OLA Library Literature

I went to the Ontario Library Association’s (OLA) website and read The Networked Librarian found in the Teaching Librarian from May 2014.

Roberts, Brenda. “The Networked Librarian.” Teaching Librarian 21.3 (2014): 24-25.              http://www.accessola2.com/images/infocentral/tl_21_3.pdf

The article suggests that for continuous learning when it comes to librarianship use an aggregator to filter all of your favourite blog feeds. It also suggests to follow Twitter users of interest such as fellow librarians and tech gurus. It is noted that by using an aggregator for blogs and following Twitter you can create a personal learning network (PLN) to keep learning once your formal education has ended.

Depending on the situation I am in when I complete this course, a PLN using blogs will allow me to keep my education up to date. I find it interesting having already used social media for personal use that it will be so beneficial in my future career.
